          Sequence of Operation:
The desired legend, composed of both steel type and logodies, is set in the
roll style type holders which are mounted in two Versa-dex carriages. These
carriages are positioned on a special dove-tail mounting bar corresponding to
the diameter of the piston and secured in place. The mounting bar is then
attached to the ram assembly. After adjusting the marking force to the
required level, the operator places the part into the fixture to accurately
position and securely hold it during the marking cycle. Depressing the dual
palm buttons activates the marking cycle. When activated, the ram travels
vertically downward to the part. As the leading edge of the first character
in each line of the legend touches the part, the marking force required
begins to develop and the leading edge is indented to the desired depth. When
this occurs, the ram assembly traverses across the part to indent the rest of
the legend. After the part is marked, the ram raises and the assembly slides
          back to the start position.

          Indenting Ram Assembly
