The Vanguard CAK series of CNC lathes is the perfect solution for any shop

with a wide range of machining needs. The Vanguard CAK series was developed to

increase every aspect of the machine's performance, yet maintaining a very low

capital investment. Whatever your turning requirement, the CAK lathes handles

a wide range of turning applications: shaft work, bar stock, castings,

threading, grooving, and deep boring applications. The Vanguard CAK lathes are

engineered for precision and maximum performance with features normally

associated with higher priced machines.

*Heavy-duty cast iron base with heavily ribbed extra wide bed ways ensures a

very high torsional stiffness, eliminating bed deflection even under heavy

cutting conditions.

*Hardened and ground bed ways, the mated surfaces are coated with anti-

friction fluroplastic liners which greatly reduces friction and has superior

dampening properties, for enhanced machining and extended machine life.

*The heavy-duty main spindle runs on precision double roller bearings and

angular contact bearings to ensure accurate machining.

*The turret is a four position horizontal or optional six position vertical or
horizontal style, all are accurately positioned and clamped with a hardened

and ground curvic coupling.

*Ballscrews are hardened and ground and are pre-tensioned and double anchored

in bearing blocks with precision NSK thrust bearings to assure positioning

accuracy.

*Built-in air to heat exchanger mounted in the electrical cabinet to maintain

proper ambient temperatures even in the harshest of environments.

*Automatic pressurized central lubrication system for slideways and moving

parts.
